Convert a PDF bank statement to CSV
Extract transaction rows from a digital or scanned PDF, review each value, and create a CSV with the delimiter and decimal separator your next workflow expects.
The first eligible PDF up to 5 pages in each 24-hour guest session includes full CSV and XLSX export. PDFs over 5 pages or files uploaded while another PDF owns the free slot receive a sample of up to 25 transactions.
Delimiter choice
Export with a comma, semicolon, or tab to suit a spreadsheet or import template.
Decimal choice
Use a dot or comma for decimal values; a semicolon avoids conflict when the decimal mark is a comma.
Consistent dates
CSV dates currently use the unambiguous YYYY-MM-DD format. Other date formats are not selectable.
A predictable text file for import workflows
CSV is useful when another system expects rows and columns rather than workbook formatting. StatementExport turns detected transactions into structured fields such as date, description, debit, credit, balance, currency, and confidence.
Choose the delimiter and decimal separator before downloading. Dates remain YYYY-MM-DD. Because CSV stores text rather than spreadsheet cell types, inspect the imported columns and totals in the destination tool.
From statement lines to configurable CSV
This invented example shows comma-delimited output with dot decimals and contains no real financial data.
| date | description | debit | credit | balance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-06-03 | Sample office supplies | 48.25 | 4951.75 | |
| 2026-06-05 | Test sales receipt | 1250.00 | 6201.75 | |
| 2026-06-08 | Demo service fee | 12.00 | 6189.75 |
The sample uses one valid setting combination. For comma decimals, choose a semicolon or tab delimiter, then verify how your destination interprets every column.
Control the text format before import
Match regional number conventions
Select dot or comma decimals independently from the row delimiter.
Avoid manual retyping
Start with extracted transaction fields, then correct questionable values in the review table.
Keep the format transparent
Open the CSV as text to inspect exactly which headers, separators, and values will be imported.
Prepare a CSV in three reviewable steps
-
1. Upload an unlocked PDF
Text is extracted from digital pages; scanned pages may use local Tesseract OCR.
-
2. Review the rows
Check dates, descriptions, amounts, balances, warnings, and low-confidence values against the PDF.
-
3. Choose CSV settings
Pick comma, semicolon, or tab plus dot or comma decimals. Dates export as YYYY-MM-DD.
CSV settings do not remove extraction risk
A well-formed CSV can still contain a misread transaction. Review the data and test the file in its destination.
- Uploads must be unlocked PDFs no larger than 25 MB or 50 pages. Password-protected PDFs are rejected.
- Local Tesseract OCR can misread faint text, cropped pages, handwriting, decimal marks, and dates.
- Unusual statement layouts can create missing, merged, or incorrectly classified rows; no bank layout is guaranteed.
- CSV does not preserve Excel cell types, formulas, or visual formatting. The importing application decides how text values are interpreted.
- Guest originals, exports, extracted statement data, and normalized rows are scheduled for purge after the 24-hour session; a minimal deleted-status operational record remains. Signed-in originals and exports are scheduled for deletion after 7 days; extracted rows remain in history until the conversion is deleted.
